I logged onto spark recipes and made a homemade coleslaw recipe. I think it turned out great and much healthier than buying coleslaw. After a few hours in the frig, I'll know for sure if this will be a permanent staple in my recipe book.
I'm trying to get out of my bad habits, so I'm going to force myself to TRY new recipes. I can't wait to try the pot pie recipe I have saved. I'm waiting for it to cool down here so that I can use the oven again.

I planned an apple fritter into my meal plan , had a healthy linchpin and have plans for supper. I also plan to go for a walk later.

I went back on to Spark People today!! It has been several months actually and I felt ashamed and disappointed in myself for having fallen off the diet wagon once again. But I found myself at a crossroads - either I could just give up and gradually get heavier and heavier (since now that I'm in menopause my already slow metabolism has virtually stopped!) OR I can just say 'yeah, I screwed up' and get up and do it again! I won't give up on myself and I won't stop telling myself that this time will be different. It doesn't matter if I've said it before and failed. The only thing that matters is RIGHT NOW. What will I do the rest of today and then tomorrow? So I don't feel ashamed; I only feel proud:) And I am proud of everyone on this site, regardless of they have done the same thing as me :)
I planned my breakfast, lunch and snacks again. I start most days with a smoothie and while the blender is making that, I make my lunch - today it's 1/2 a can of tuna mixed with Cholula hot sauce which I'll put on toast at lunch and some leftover kale salad with lemon & garlic and throw some fruit and cheese in for snacks.
I also made myself a nice unsweetened iced tea rather than coffee when I got to the office.
I brought in little dessert things for my students today, and they are chocolate and they have been staring at me the entire day (from out of sight under the desk no less, they have powerful laser eyes), and yet, I haven't eaten one.
I made the choice to go ahead and go for an extended walk tonight when I got home. I was pretty tired and not really feeling it, but told myself I would feel so much better if I just went. And I did!

My good choices were to plan for my work trip. I packed breakfast to eat while I was driving and had a sub for lunch. Supper I was more lenient, but still stayed in my calorie range. I walked this evening. I also packed breakfast for tomorrow and a snack for the drive home so I can make it to yoga on time tomorrow night.
