We are not having cake, we are doing cupcakes instead. I am making them myself, along with a friend of mine who is coming in the day before the wedding.

I am thinking of doing one batch of Strawberry and one batch of chocolate, then topping both with my homemade butter cream icing. emoticon

We have a family member making our cake and because of that we decided to go all out on the flavors! We are having a 4 tiered cake and each tier will be a different flavor. I know some say that's too many, etc, etc .... but we're excited about it and partially doing it to show off her work so she can gain publicity as well!

Our anniversary tier will be a chocolate cake with peanut butter filling. We're also having strawberry cake with a which chocolate strawberry ganache, marble cake with dark chocolate ganache, and a white cake with a light lemon ganache. Can't wait!!!!

I'm making my own cake and was thinking of doing chocolate cake with salted caramel filling because I love that flavour. White cake is nice too though for just one type as I think it would appeal to everyone.

So nice to have someone you know making the cake. Something you can talk about for years. My husband and I actually chose to have several watermelons carved into cakes. (it's his favorite fruit and plus saved us a ton of money). Have fun with whatever flavor/style you decide!

We had a High Tea theme with scones and fruit and nuts---so nobody starved =)

We're deciding next week when we meet with our cousin who is making our cake. So many decisions! This is one of the things that has been the hardest to plan so far =/

We are talking about having a red velvet cake, but I would like to try and incorporate other options for people who just want vanilla.. I like the cupcake idea, but I will check out some other ideas too like cake pops.. which I can make myself and they are pretty delicious!

I'd love to do a lemon cake with some rasberry filling and buttercream frosting

We'll be having a cupcake tower with a small red velvet cake for the top and the rest vanilla and red velvet cupcakes.

No traditional cake here. My fiance hates cake. We are doing pies, and will probably do and angel food cake with strawberries and cream for us. Hopefully it'll be cheaper too. *shrugs* We shall see!

We're having two. One will probably be chocolate with vanilla frosting, while the other will be some fancy flavor that the fiance picks out.

Not sure yet if we're having cake. We'll serve dessert, but I am not sold on wedding cake.

We're skipping cake in favor of pie, which we both prefer. We'll have blueberry, apple, peach, and (my favorite) strawberry rhubarb.

Either carrot or red velvet. Probably carrot though since it's a fall wedding and thats his favorite.

We are doing a three tiered cake. The cake flavor will be key lime, normally I'm not a big key lime fan but this bakers cake is amazing. The icing will be key lime as well. dont worry our cake wont be green lol the icing is white just with a hint of key lime flavor.

I'd get carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. My husband would pick lemon poppyseed though :) We did two layered sheet cakes for our wedding though and went crazy with the flavors, ending up with 5 different flavored cakes. It was SOOO much cheaper than getting a tiered cake!! We would have paid twice as much for a tiered cake that only served half our total guests.

We're finalizing our cake tomorrow and for budget purposes, we can only choose one flavor. Which really sucks when you have a baker with some amazing choices! We think that we are going to choose chocolate cake with this strawberry filling.

If you could only choose one flavor, what would it be? Or what flavor cake are you getting?
