I take my vitamins and drink water. Usually sort mail, vacuum, progressing with the laundry, etc. in between cooking steps

I cook A LOT. I'm always batch cooking, freezing stuff and make 98% of our meals from scratch. And I confess, I'm a "taster". I usually nibble on whatever ingredients I'm using to cook with but I go for the lower calorie options like veggies or fruit. Not all the time but usually if it's close to my usual meal/snack time. I also confess that when taking my children's plates away when they haven't finished their meal, I like a bite if it's something really yummy. I'm pretty mindful of it and don't go crazy though and it hasn't effected my weight loss.

I'll confess to a bad gum habit. But it serves a dual purpose. Not only does it give me something to chew on as I cook, but it prevents me from grabbing taste cheats because you can't eat food and be chewing gum at the same time.
almost any veggie would suffice, but like someone else said, it can become a habit. Perhaps if you had everything ready to go already; that need would be eliminated.
It may take a while (extra time) initially to have packages of veggies already prepped in the fridge, but might be worth it in the end

I also usually snack on the raw veggies I'll be cooking for the meal. My puppy always shows up in the kitchen when I'm cutting veggies and he enjoys them too.

Usually I have whatever veggie that im using in the meal, carrots, celery, peppers, mushrooms . Or im tasting as I go to get the seasoning just right, not much just a taste try to remember that it adds up too. But the veggies are a good snack.

Ugh, eating while cooking is a horrible habit I have. Trying to break that habit.
I donít usually snack while I cook, unless Iím really hungry. In that case, I tend to just have a bite or two of whatever I can grab the quickest (like a few pretzels) to hold me over. Instead, I usually drink a glass of homemade water kefir (itís a probiotic drink that tastes a lot like ginger ale). I drink it out of a wine glass so I get the feeling like Iím having a nice relaxing glass of wine while cooking, but without all the calories.
