I stay creative in my workouts and what I like to do. I always remind myself how great I feel after a good work out. I love listening to my 80's music and my shuffle brings me back in the day and feel young again. I like how I fit in my clothes and can bring clothes back I been wanting to wear again.
Sleep, eat, exercise and keep your home and you finances organized. If you are focused you will have less stress. If you have friends that are bringing you down move on. We are better than that. There is so many things that we invite in our life and can take a toll on us. We deserve better and should feel good and be happy.

I agree with ARCHIMEDESII: Find something you really enjoy. I love the treadmill, spin bike, and walk-at-home videos. I hate the elliptical machine, so I don't do it. :) I also love listening to music when I work out. I don't know, it pumps me up, I guess. Sometimes, I will just pop in a CD and dance around the living room for an hour. It should be fun.
Also, I love hiking, so staying in hiking shape is a big motivator for me. I really like working out, but as others have said, some days it's hard to get going. I just keep thinking of how much better I will feel during and after the workout. It's a nice feeling to set a goal and accomplish it. Good luck!

My treadmill and recumbent bikes are in the same room as the TV, so I put on Netflix and watch as I exercise. Once the weather gets nicer, I'll do some walking outside, where I can pet the neighbors' dogs and watch hawks as I walk. All the motivation I need.
I don't need a lot of motivation as I love to exercise, but definitely on some days it's harder to get going than others.
Music and fun apps and especially my Fitbit keep me moving, and for weights and yoga, I just do them.
Logging everything makes it even more fun. I play competitive games with myself.
I can't jog or run anymore (knees don't like it) so one thing I enjoy is power up my walking to focus on making it as close to running as possible.

I'm the QUEEN of "BUT I HATE WORKING OUT!" land. Wonderful place to live but it gets a bit crowded at times.
I use every trick in the book to make myself work out. I lie to myself ....you only have to work out for 10 minutes.....only 10 minutes more then you can stop.....till I complete my sentence ..err my workout.
I watch TV, read my NOOK, stare at a picture from when I weighed 245#s. I promise myself long hot baths, diamond tiaras, hot fudge sundaes if I just do it today. Fortunately, I have a horrible memory and never remember to pay up.
I try new things that should be fun (and aren't) ..and lie and tell myself they are fun and that I really, really want to do this again......I'm really gullible....I believe myself till I'm in the middle of it.
The biggest motivator for me is that I feel better and am at a healthy weight. I keep reminding myself that as much as I hate working out, I love how I feel when I'm not working out. That and a stiff drink (just kidding, too many calories in booze) keep me going. I know I have to do this forever and while I don't totally hate working out any more I will probably never love it but I have accepted that this is how it is.
Listen to music, exercise with someone or meditate.
I did my best today, tomorrow I will do even better.

At the gym, I listen to up beat music and read a good book on my Kindle when I am on the elliptical, treadmill or stationary bike. At home when I walk on the treadmill I watch a movie or show on my Kindle. I make a rule I can only watch a certain movie or read a certain book only when I am working out. I make sure I pick something good that I don't want to stop watching or reading so I work out longer.

How to stay motivated when exercising ? Do something you love ! example, don't run because someone told you running is a great way to burn calories. If you decide to run, it should be something you want to do, not something you have to do. Exercise should be FUN. because when we enjoy doing something, we look forward to doing that something each and every day.
So, if you find yourself dreading your workout, then you need to find something that will be fun as well as a good workout.
Remember, the exercise doesn't stop once we've lost the weight. If we want to remain fit for our entire lives, we need to be active in some way for our entire life. That's another reason exercise should be something you enjoy because it's something you'll be doing for the rest of your life.
