It's about being able to move around without feeling tired, sore, awkward, bulky.slow. It's about being able to eat a delicious meal and walk away satisfied, no heartburn, no bloating. It's about feeling like I want to do things I used to enjoy, but had given up on.
Overall, it's feeling like i've lost "ten years of age" that is more important than dropping any particular amount of pounds.

The biggest success factor for me is how I feel. I simply feel better when I eat right and exercise regularly. At the opposite end, when I do NOT eat right or exercise regularly, I get really crabby.
Second, I value medical numbers. We have such a diabetes epidemic going on that I think it's really important to monitor the important numbers and do what we can to control them. Obviously, some of us have a family history and that is an uncontrollable risk factor, but there are a number of things we CAN control.
the small victories in life. I wanted junk food yesterday as I was coming home and I stopped at the store and got an apple and a no sugar ice tea....... I was getting dressed today and saw muscles in my biceps and shoulders......weight lifting is paying off.
