I know it's controversial, but I also use protein powder for a quick high protein, low calorie fix.

Greek yogurt! Try it with a bit of splenda and some fruit. It's better than yoplait or dannon, I promise. Also eggs- and there are so many ways to prepare them!

I am supplementing my diet with the Body by Vi shakes. They have 12 grams of protein (plus whatever you mix with them), 4 grams of fiber, and 23 daily essentials. I do not always eat correctly as I am always on the go. I do eat meat occasionally - but also do beans, rice, eggs, tuna. The low sugar Detour protein bars are also good. 15 grams of protein - I use them as an on the go snack.

I like greek yogurt with 1/2 c of blueberries and 2 tbs wheat germ for breakfast. I am trying to up my fiber intake.

I only occasionally eat meat. Mostly I eat fish, skim plain yogurt, eggs, lentils, beans, garbanzos, nuts, brown rice and whole wheat bread/spaghetti. The last two are not really rich in proteins, but they are good sources of carbohydrates with some protein in them. All the rest is very rich with proteins. If you want also low calories in addition to high protein, fish and skim plain yogurt are the best. Eggs are great whole protein, but they are not too low on the calories per unit weight of protein. The worst are the nuts in terms of calories per unit weight of protein. But they contain the right type of fat, so they are worth it.

The following foods are high in protein:

Tempeh (is a complete protein food that contains all the essential amino acids and is a healthier option to the more processed tofu),
soybeans (cooked),
lentils (cooked),
black beans (cooked),
kidney beans (cooked),
chickpeas (cooked),
Quinoa (pronounced keen-wah - this is a grain that has the highest amount of protein out of all the grains and cereals),
almonds and almond butter (much better than peanuts and peanut butter).

I'm a vegetarian. I ate 74 grams of protein today. The protein came from Greek yogurt (23 grams protein between breakfast smoothie and my snack), skim milk (4 grams in my breakfast smoothie), whole-wheat pita bread (5 grams), homemade hummus (5 grams), mixed vegetables (5 grams), homemade vegetable-lentil-barley soup (10 grams), a teaspoon of hemp hearts (3 grams) and a post-gym protein bar (14 grams). There were other minimal sources of protein (one or two grams, here or there).
