I definitely feel stronger, I can wear really cute, sexy clothes without looking completely inappropriate, and my confidence is through the roof, because of all the stuff I've been able to accomplish, especially fitness-wise.

I am only down 10 pounds and have quite a ways more to go... BUT... I have more energy and am LOVING all the new recipes on spark people!
I'm just down 5 pounds, but I came here to see inspiring points from all of you! I would love to become a runner in the long-term and see new parts of myself that have been missing for ages!
So far, just the discipline of getting up in the mornings and getting a small workout in before work really makes me feel so much stronger during the day and somehow together about things. I really like that morning time.
I am laughing so hard at that last one - I commented at some point recently that I saw a part of my body that I had not seen in AGES - it has been covered by that HUGE apron of fat that hangs over my ______. When i was going to WW about 30 years ago, someone came in to a meeting so excited because she saw - and this is the LITERAL quote - THE HOLE BETWEEN MY LEGS. Another mentioned being able to tie her shoes for the first time in YEARS. The first woman was referring to the fact her THIGHS no longer TOUCHED each other, rubbing raw spots when she walked. Needless to say, we all rolled on the floor laughing. Isn't it amazing when those silly little things that are SOOOOOO big mark our progress?

I can see my knees! Ha Ha, you think thats not something! Its 20 pounds down, but no Jenny Craig, no weight watchers, no nurtisystem. Just me and my spark buddies!

Like OP, I have not lost even 10 pounds yet, so it hasn't done anything for me physically (well, pants fit a little better!), but it has done things for me mentally.
It's shown me that: 1. I am capable of planning a menu and sticking to it. 2. It is hard but CAN be done. 3. I DO have time to eat right & exercise if I plan for it. 4. Fruit & vegetables aren't so bad.
So if I can just keep it up, then, I'll be doing really well.

Losing weight for me has improved my health, eased my pain, improved my ability to move around, AND it has also in the past removed medicines from my routines. Some years ago, I lost a LOT of weight and went off my sleep apnea machine, insulin, cholesterol meds, BP meds, and even my asthma meds. I am back on a lot of them but hoping to gradually wean my way back off them slowly as the weight drops off slowly. Looks are simply a bonus for me - the health issues are SOOOOOO BIG.

I haven't even lost 10 pounds yet, but... I feel like my weight does not define me any longer. I feel like I am in control of my health, my present, and most importantly... my future! That feeling is so empowering!
