i personally don't enjoy walking dvd's. i've only done two, one of which was a Leslie Sansone. it's basically just marching in place with some variations. it was fun to do once or twice when i was just getting back into an exercise routine, but that's about it. i actually enjoy my treadmill much more than a walking dvd! as far as my "go to" i have so many i love. it really depends on your fitness level and how you're feeling on any particular day. if you're a beginner or even intermediate, i absolutely recommend Kelly Coffey-Meyer's "Start Here" dvd. love it. if you're intermediate or advanced, i'd say Jessica Smith's "10 Pounds Down." it's really good and tough. if you're very advanced and really super fit, no one beats Cathe Friedrich in my opinion. =)

I like Slim in 6 by Beach Body. Easy moves and very effective. I've used it in the past and got great results. Starting that again today..Today is Day One for me on the transformation to a new and healthier me.

Any of the Bob Harper workout DVDs. He really works you out and I feel so good and sore the next day or so.

I also like Leslie Sansone - walk away the pounds. I happened to find her via pinterest. Someone pinned her video on Youtube actually! So if you are interested in trying that you can search it on youtube. I pull it up on my iPad and sit it up on a table..not as big as a TV but it works. It sounds boring but is fun. She makes you forget that you are "walking" away pounds. I've also done the same with Zumba. There are some 50 minute continual videos on youbtube.

My favorites are Jazzercise Burlesque and The Crunch - Cardio Dance Blast. Anything with dancing helps keep me motivated. I also have come to enjoy any kickboxing lately.

I like the Winsor Pilates videos - they're easy to follow, but still a decent workout. And no jumping around, which I'm sure is important to my downstairs neighbor :)

I've never done a workout DVD, so I can't help. But, reading some of the enthusiastic reviews in the thread, perhaps I ought to try one!
I like to do Jessica Smith's low impact on days I can't go hard! On brighter days, my go-to is Billy Blanks' Taebo! I feel like I am actually punching a person I despise or has hurt me! I even have muscle definition in my arms, thanks to Billy!

Someone also mentioned the Sit and Be Fit, and those are really nice, too. I got some used in VHS form on Amazon for a very reasonable price. Great to have on hand when you need to keep off your feet.

I like the Leslie Sansone for days I want to do milder exercise. For days I plan to push myself, I do the PACE DVD's that I purchased from Dr. Al Sears PACE Program. They are very adaptable and utilize the HIIT that some of the Leslie Sansone videos also use.
Turbo Jam burns the most calories in the least amount of time!

On amazon prime, you can rent some Leslies and others available for rent as well. They are not available via hulu.
There are tons on youtube.com. You have to search what you're looking for.

With the walk away the pounds dvds you do not just walk but you keep changing directions when you do side steps and step back. This change in movement helps make the evercise work better. So, I would say it is different than just walking one direction on a treadmill.
Anyone know which of these are available on youtube or say amazon prime or hulu downloading? Would prefer to try a few videos that way rather than buying. I tend to get bored with an exercise dvd and then never use it again.
For those of you who love Leslie Sansone, is it still worth it if you have a treadmill at your house? I have a treadmill I like to use and listen to loud music. lol Are her DVD's a good way to walk inside or are they good even if you have an alternate way to do that?
I love Billy Blanks Bootcamp dvds. :-) Also a really fun and completely free way to try out some new exercise dvds is to check them out from the library. I spent about a year checking out different ones and trying them for a week before settling on Billy Blanks.

I love the Leslie Sansone walk away the pounds DVDs. They are a mainstay for me. I have several and swap them around all the time. They are low impact, so for an oldie like myself with various aches and pains they are great. There are also 1 mile up to 5 mile workouts so it depends on the time and day.

My fallback when I'm short on time or don't have internet access is Jillian Michaels's 6-Week 6 Pack. It's quick and I know all the moves, but it's still challenging.
30 Day Shred. Even when I really don't want to exercise, I can talk myself into a 20 minute workout.

With my knee problems, Leslie Sansone's dvds are a life-saver. Lately my favorites are her Burn and Firm in 30. Her workouts are what gave me the confidence to start getting healthier. I also like her 5 Minute 500 Step and 3 Minute workouts for a quick boost. Thanks Leslie!

Chalene is awesome. She looks like the typical blonde 'n' perky exercise instructor but she's more than just a pretty face - and Turbo Fire is NO joke! If you like to get dance-y, she's your girl. Have fun!
"Now I have some new ones to try! I hadn't heard of Chalene Johnson or Nell McAndrews, so that will be fun to check out."
I'm in the UK, AUDREY, and I'm not too sure if Nell McAndrews' DVDs are available in the USA. However, if they are I would highly recommend them, especially if you don't mind getting sweaty and utterly exhausted!

I'm so embarrassed to say but I love the old school advanced Tae Bo work out that was on VHS. Some awesome person uploaded it on YouTube so now I can do it again! Just look for Billy Blanks wearing a bright red spandex outfit with the stage also being red too and you've found it!!

I love everything Chalene Johnson. Even if I'm feeling unmotivated or cranky, I am always in a better mood even before the warmup is over. (I'm currently hooked on the Turbo Fire program, but the basic Turbo Jam series served me well - I lost 60 lbs doing it!)
The 3 that never let me down are Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred, The All Star Trainers DVD (I think out of print but can still be found on ebay), and TaeBo Celebrity Fit. I've owned all of them for YEARS. I have a gym membership now, but if for some reason I can't get there, I will still pull one of these, and they leave me satisfied.

J.Michaels workouts are great! Especially her latest ones: Hard Body & One week shred
Mine's Pick Your Spot Pilates. It's part of the Crunch series. It's entirely floor work and that is really great when you're just starting out. After awhile, it just felt like second nature. I never really got bored with it...BUT I'm kind of ok with repetition fitness-wise. lol What DVD makes it "easy" for you to get in a workout no matter what?
