I gained about 1.5lbs and I'm drinking extra water to beat the bloat. It is definitely discouraging, but I take some comfort in knowing it's only temporary.

Yeah, I typically gain 3-5lbs during that TOM. I will say that last month, I only gained 2 pounds and I think it's because I had consistently been drinking enough water.
I do what one of the other posters said and keep doing what I was doing before. After the period is over, I also notice a larger than normal drop. So keep doing what you've been doing and you should be fine!

Thanks everyone! I seem to have gained 5 lbs this cycle which is high for me. Good to hear about some typical ranges, and hopefully I'll be back down to normal next week...

Usually a couple of pounds for me. In terms of managing your diet, don't do anything differently. Just continue within your calorie and nutrient ranges and drink your water. I often find a slightly bigger than usual drop in the scale the week after my period, so I consider it "in the bank" during my period and just continue with my program.
Just give your body permission to do what it will do, and keep taking good care of yourself!

I'd say 2-4 for me, not including regular daytime fluxuations, just weighing first thing in the morning.

3-7 lbs depending on how severe my period is that month.
Weight loss is accomplished with the mind.
A person who wants something WILL find a way....a person who doesn't will find an excuse.

Hi all - I'm wondering what is considered "normal" weight gain during your period and how to manage my diet during my period. Seeing the scale go up significantly has been a real bummer, but I don't want to lose motivation.
