As Holly (NIGHTSKYSTAR) says, it's totally up to you. We are an "experiment of one", and you will need to learn the tools that motivate you the best. The tracker is set up so that people can use it in many different ways. I've even seen people change it to lose "10%" or "10 pounds at a time", as that is how they are motivated - some people see the big numbers and are depressed with how much there is to lose, so a smaller number to track seems more "do-able".
Your friend and you are lucky to have each other for support along the way. That is very valuable!
Usually I do it daily. If I gain, I cut back or increase exercise. It's kept me reasonably slim always. Thanksgiving however, it's hard to control calories when other people are doing the cooking and I eat differently. So i will weigh when i get back on track, survey the damage and act accordingly :)

Its totally up to you. You know how you have done, and what will motivate you the most!!! Some do it one way, some others..I dont think there is a wrong or right way, just whatever works best for you!! Holly

I began my Weight Tracker with the weight I began Spark with.,, When I showed a friend what SparkPeople was about and My Page, she mentioned that I should give myself credit for the weight I already lost, that way it would make me feel as if I'm not Starting Over, only continuing my plan with help. She is also joining Sparkpeople and told me that is what she is going to do. Any thoughts? Should I give myself credit for weight I already lost before joining Spark?
