No matter how often I step on the scale, I only record weekly. I may end up changing that to monthly, however, now that I'm closer to goal

:) that makes me happy... I think I agree I used to weight myself often and for 1 year I did not and from 140 I jumped to 165 lb. I don't think it's an obsession, it's an incentive so we eat less and make those numbers go down. Glad to know I'm not going crazy to weight everyday. Thanks so much for the replies.
I, too, weigh daily. Have for 2.5 years. I don't obsess over it. It keeps me on track. The times in my life when I didn't weight in, I've gained weight. I've been maintaining a 55 pound weight loss for well over a year.
To each their own. We're all different. I'm just a bit too OCD to not do it. ;)
I reached a compromise with myself years ago and have found it to be helpful. I weigh EVERY DAY (sometimes more than once when I am right on the edge of a milestone weight) BUT I only record my weight at the beginning of each month. I watch it fluctuate and I celebrate when it drops, but I know that today's weird 6 pound drop could just as easily evaporate tomorrow and show a gain - my weight (and truthfully nobody else's either) is NOT a static number and the road to weight loss is not a smooth one. I have come to terms with the idea that to NOT weigh is to let myself go crazy and to eat whatever with no brakes to slam on, BUT to obsess over the ups and downs is to DRIVE myself crazy. Research shows that once you reach maintenance, the people who maintain their weight loss, usually weigh daily and take corrective actions if they see their weight go outside of a 5 pound range. I use the theory that if it works to KEEP the weight off, it also works to help me stay on track while getting there.
At the beginning of every month, I tell myself 'I'm not going to weigh in until the end of the month'. Usually I only last about 3 weeks until I finally give in and check. I've weighed in almost every day for the last 3 weeks, and really, it's helping me to stay in check and while I understand that it fluctuates and will always do so, it serves as a motivator for me to get up and keep going to the gym every morning.
Personally, I know it is not good to be obsessed about the numbers on a scale, but I weigh every single day, sometimes more than once. It reminds me to stay accountable for what I eat. But I do know that if the number fluctuates, I don't get bummed about it as long as I know I have eaten clean because there are many factors that cause that.

I know the site say to weight once a week but I'm sure I'm not the only one that get curious and end up weight more than once a week. How often do you do? Is it a motivator to weight more than once a week?
