In my experience it's coming off the way it went on, but your mileage may vary. For me, my legs seem to be slimming down faster, but they were the last area I really put on on weight so I can't attribute that to the fact that I run. I suspect that as I go I'll find my belly fat - first place I gained, to be the last and hardest place to lose from.

Quite frankly, you can't. Your body loses weight where it's genetically predisposed to lose weight. It's why some of us are pear shapes, others apples. It's not that the apples didn't do enough crunches or the pears need to do extra leg presses - it's that we just carry weight in different places and we don't get to decide where.
