Hi I am so happy to see your message. I have the vertical sleeve scheduled for the first of the year, after over 20 years of dieting w/o success. You should be very proud of yourself for losing all that weight and I commend you for the courage it took to do the surgery. I'm very embarrassed to tell people about my plans for surgery cuz I feel like I failed and people will think I took "the easy way out". But you know it isn't the easy way. If you have time, I'd love to hear from you about what to expect after the surgery. I'm 59 years old and have 100 lbs to lose, and believe me, I have done every diet out there, never losing more than 30 pounds. I can barely move, let alone exercise due to arthritis pain, so am hoping this is the answer I need.
Thank you again for your post. It's nice to know I'm not alone in the journey.

Hi there,

I did a little research and found a team called Gastric Sleevers. The link is below!

Any other members on SparkPeople that have had weight loss surgery and regained a few pounds? I had the vertical sleeve surgery and have lost 134 pds but I regained 17 pds. I began to use this site to help me lose the required weight before my surgery. I would like to connect with people that have had any weight loss surgery or are going to have the weight loss surgery. I do welcome any other feedback from anyone and would love to make new friends. I don't want to regain all those pounds back. I feel so much better emotionally and physically. However, I find myself falling back into old habits. My starting weight was 324 and my doctor's goal for me was 195. I got down to 190 pds and then bloomed back up to 205 pds. My goal is to get down to 180 pds by my second anniversary of my surgery. I like this site much better because it less restricted and gives me a larger variety of options.
