A website called Modcloth has the cutest dresses. Most of their dresses only go up to size 12 and it is a very small 12. Even at my weigh I usually wear a size 14 at Modcloth. They do carry some dresses in higher sizes. Their dresses can range anywhere from $50 to $400+.
Eshakti makes adorable dresses that can be customized and the sizes can be customized. Make sure you tell them the date that you need the dress by, in the order. So that they can get it to you in time. Their dresses are usually under $100, with a small fee for customization. Sometimes they can accommodate a dress being made in a different color, but not fabric.
If you don't have a ton of money and want a really cute dress. Ever Pretty on Amazon makes really cute dresses. I have an event in May and I am getting my dress from Ever Pretty. Usually $30 to $50. Some cost more but most under $100. Ever Pretty at Amazon is my favorite place to buy a dress.

I like Deb, they have a huge selection, long short, ankle. They carry sizes up to 24. That is my first place to go, plus the pricing is pretty reasonable. With summer coming, Maurices will typically carry dresses. I have also purchased dresses at Kohls, but usually end up looking in the Junior section, which is a little harder to find the correct sizing.

Short or long dressy dresses, but should not detract from the bride.

I like Nordstrom and Lord and Taylor for dresses for special occasions. You can find amazing deals at the Nordstrom Rack, if there is one near you. Otherwise I find cute stuff at Macys sometimes, and at local boutiques.

Buying a wedding dress is seriously a difficult task as I am getting married this may and I am finding a lot difficulties in buying a wedding dresses from retail store. So now I am planning to buy it from an online store. Can anyone suggest me any best fashion website from where I can buy best wedding dress for my marriage?
I was able to get mine at my local wedding boutique... I did order mine in a champagne color and really, really pretty, I could have ordered them in the color I wished for.
I hated the traditional dresses, but I got mine in a chiffon all throughout because it is a summer wedding... and its to the floor... my issue was finding no strap or sleeve dresses.. ALL of them were strapless! So I had to buy a wrap $20.00 because I don't plan on tanning LOL
My dress was $300 and it was considered a a bridesmaid dress hhahahaa

My daughter is getting married in Nov. I have seen some good choices at Macy's. Thanks for tips for online. I'm going to check them out!
I have waaaaay too many clothes! My wardrobe is bursting atm!
I will only go shopping when some of my clothes have worn out, which won't be anytime soon! I must have the blessing of the Isrealites from the book of Exodus and Numbers! My clothes all seem to last forever!

Garnet Hill and Boden USA (both online) are my favorite sources for dresses. The dresses that I get the most positive feedback on are wrap dresses from Banana Republic.
You might also check some of the vintage-inspired online shops like Ruche and ModCloth.
TJ Maxx or Marshalls, hands down!! You might have to go to more than one, though....because they TOTALLY vary from area to area. I just got a killer Calvin Klein dress for $29.99 at TJMaxx this week and would have bough sooo many more dresses if I had a legit reason to purchase other than "I want".
I like Macy's and Dillards (if you have them) . I have a formal wedding coming up in June and I got my dress at a little bridal boutique and it's just above knee and off the shoulder -- very cute. I was surprised to find it there! (It was going to be my MOB dress for my daughter's wedding, but we changed the color scheme). If you have any consignment shops in your area, I'd give a look there. They sometimes have some really nice bargains!

Kohl's is another good place to check. Love the Dana Buchman stuff they carry!
How much time do you have before the wedding? If there's time for an online order (remembering that you might have to return it, maybe more than once), I've gotten some surprisingly good things from Chadwick's of Boston. In fact, I was in a wedding where we bought the bridesmaids' dresses there. (We had every size from 2 petite to 22 tall and we were at opposite ends of the continent, so we couldn't shop together, and mail-order was the best alternative.)
Also be sure to check out resale (used) boutiques, especially if you can find the ones in fancier neighborhoods. LOTS of women will buy 3 or 4 dresses for a wedding, wear one, and end up taking the others to a resale, sometimes with the tags still on them. And the better shops dry clean everything before they put it out, so you really, really can't tell they're used. Last time I went to a wedding, I got three dresses, two of them with the tags still on, for $45.
I am very picky about what dress I want to wear but I can't find any that I like. I always see people at wedding wearing the cutest dresses (go to knees, straps, flowers on bottom or minimal flowers throughout, or print dresses or just cute one color dresses) but I don't know where to get them. Do most of you get them at boutiques or ? Lately all I see are ones that are mid-thigh and I don't like showing my thighs (just yet). Plus I normally just where black and white and its so boring...I want to wear something summery. Thanks!
