Welcome to Spark. It sounds like you have a lot going on in your life. I was older when I finished my degree on line. I love the computer and embrace the new way of communicating. This is a great support site. The thing that helps me best is tracking all my food. Good luck on your weight loss.

Hi and welcome. So glad you are hereto make a change! Get familiar with everything here, make a spark page and join some teams. Teams are good for motivation, support and accountability. I have added a link to a team to get you started, but you should use the team search bar and type in things like your hobbies/interests or the first number of your age followed by a 0 and something. Example - "30 something", good luck on your journey

Hello, everyone. I have lots of excuses for overeating: stress (always,) frustration (often,) feeling of helplessness (yes). None of these are reasonable. I know that, but it's me comforting me. I am a mother of 11, a grandmother of 18. I am single and living (not well) with my daughter, her boyfriend, and her daughter (2) and our mutual son (6), whom she and I adopted jointly when his mother (my daughter) was killed five years ago. Last fall I enrolled in college online...a very challenging college at that...and realized how much I had to do just to keep up with the computer generation that surrounded me online. I worked very hard, lost a lot of sleep, and did well, but the challenges (math) awaiting me this fall are worse. Now I have to master my diet, too. It made me feel a little better to see that not everyone on this site is really young. Trying to master the basics of the site and the program and not panic.
