Water is always the best choice :-) As a former sodapop addict, I have learned to l-o-v-e sparkling water (it was the carbonation I craved, more than the sugar), and I also like to add lime to plain filtered water.
I also want to mention - since the subject of artificial sweeteners comes up a lot and is a concern to many, including myself - that if something is labeled 'sugar free' it most likely has artificial sweetener in it. If that's not a concern for you, then go for it. But don't be fooled -- always read labels; when something says 'sugar free' don't assume that it has no artificial sweetener in it.
Oh, and be careful with Mio. I don't know from experience, because I can't tolerate the taste of or I get nauseated from artificial sweeteners, but more than one person has told me that too much Mio will... erm, how do I put this delicately... make one's bowels loose (!)
