"The water bottle in the sun thing is an urban legend."

I've seen conflicting reports on this. Most sources say that it *is* a danger, but not a significant one for *most* water bottles. As long as your bottle is BPA free (which I assume is part of being "food-grade" although I personally don't know how that is determined), yes, you're right. And most are, anymore, but it's still something to consider when picking out a water bottle since not *all* are, especially with cheap bottles.

It can easily get to 140+ in a car in the summer, so even if the danger isn't statistically significant, I prefer the way water tastes from glass or stainless steel, anyway. Whether it's carcinogenic or not, plastic doesn't always taste nice. You can get awesome glass bottles with plastic sleeves that make them more shatter-proof and whatnot. They're cute, too. :)

The water bottle in the sun thing is an urban legend.
It's not any more dangerous than water bottles left in the fridge.
As long as they are food grade, you're good to go.

I hope you're not using a plastic bottle. Plastic left in the sun (it doesn't even need to be very warm) leeches all kinds of nastiness into its contents. Other than that, it's not a bad idea. I don't really need to sneak more water in (I drink more than enough lol), but I'm sure it's a useful idea for some.

Hi, this tip is probably already known - if so my apologies - I'm posting 'cause it's a SparkCoach assignment.

I fill up my 4 C water bottle and put in my car drink holder in the morning. I drink it on my way home from work - I work 40 minutes away - I mean I'm just sitting there, so I grab my water and drink it. It's become a habit. And this way I've already drank half of my 8 C of water for the day. I hope this might help somebody.
