I try to remember to drink water first whenever I think I might be getting hungry - and start thinking about a healthy snack at the same time. Then, after several minutes, if I'm still feeling hungry, I'll know it is true hunger and not just thirst - and I'll have given myself some time to prepare or plan a healthy snack - not a spontaneous, unhealthy one that I might regret later. Win-Win.
