So many inspiring people on here... thx for the support! I won't pressure my wife... I don't think she needs to lose any weight at all... I love her and all of her body... I'm just looking for support and to not bring things like cookies and brownies and such into the house... :)

Wow! It sounds like you're fired up and ready to go, that's awesome. I think I have Jen's Journey on my FB, too. I've been here for four years, so I've seen a lot of people come and go. It's exciting to see people succeed after knowing them from the point where you are RIGHT NOW. Amazing.
All the tools you need are right here. It would be wonderful for your wife to join you, but try not to pressure her. She may react to your changes with a little bit of her own fears. Once you start feeling great, she'll see the benefits and might even be inspired to do more for her own health!
Just imagine... Sharing some conversation during nightly walks.. Or discovering some other kind of fitness-related bonding. I hope that becomes your reality one day! May you continue to grow and learn and change together!

It took me about 3 years to get serious, but now have lost over 70 pounds since I first joined Sparkpeople. If you ever need support or motivation, feel free to reach out and ask! Saw a posting from a friend on FB about someone called Jen's Journey..... Seeing what she has done in her life has inspired me to get my life back on track. At my best I was 185 lbs at 5'10 17 years ago when I met my now wife. Since then I have fallen and fallen.... I am now 39 years old and 260 lbs! I am hating the way I feel and look. Seeing what Jen has done has changed me... She commented on FB about this site, so I decided this is where i am going to start! My biggest downfall is sweets.... I'm actually not a big eater, but I have to push myself to workout. I have a pretty nice gym of weights in my garage.... a half squat, full squat cage, bench with leg extension, leg press/hack squat machine and roughly 2000 lbs of Olympic weights and 500 or so of Standard plates. The hardest part for me will be Cardio.... so that is what I need to concentrate on getting in.
In short... THANK YOU Jen for all you have done... and I hope to be 80 lbs lighter by this time next year!
