Hey ladies, glad you are on board! Hol, it sounds like you had a great first workout. I also modified the cable row to a dumbbell row as he said it was alright in the book and I agree that it makes more sense when you are doing push ups in between, at least with the set up of my gym...especially since I had to use a low wall for push-ups (the 60ish degree ones) because I am not strong enough to do them at a lower angle yet!

Hi Everyone,

I just did my first workout yesterday morning and I loved it (STAGE 1,WORKOUT 1). It took just under 30 minutes. That did not include 10 minutes cardio to warm up and stretching at the end. I had to modify a couple exercises. I did the squats with dumbbells because I have not learned how to use the squatters rack yet. I have asked someone at the gym to show me. I also modified the exercise that requires a pulley, because it is logistically easier to use the dumbbells since I am interchanging the sets with push ups. I have been lifting weights moderately before this. I feel sore today, but not horribly. My body feels like it did something really good.

I just picked up this book from the library yesterday! I have no clue what it's about, I haven't even looked at it yet, but it's good to know others are doing it if I decide to!

OK, I made a forum for people starting now at the group. Hopefully we can get some others!

If you've done the first workout now, post there and let us know how it went! I am off to try it shortly...

Hi,

I read the book a few months ago. I just reread certain parts and planned on starting stage 1 tomorrow.

I am very interested in teaming up together to tackle this challenge.

Let me know.

I am still trying to find my way around this website.

Anyone starting this program soon? Started it recently?
I am in the process of reading the book and I would like to start it within the next week.
I think it would help if I had a group/buddy to share the experience and keep me accountable.

There is a SparkTeam dedicated to the program and we could move our conversations to the forums there.

Anybody want to get on board?

(Go here: http://www.thenewrulesoflifting.com/nrol-f
or-women if you are not familiar with the program.)

Jen
