Thanks for the encouragement :) I might consider shaving off 200 cals or so but so far as long as i still see losses I think ill stick with my current averages. Some days Im lower around 1200-1300 and others im higher around 1500-1700 so i tend to look at my weekly averages. Can i just say how nice it is not to restrict any food groups and to still enjoy losses ... very liberating from the dieting days :)

Yeah, that's great, just about a pound a week, which is dead average. You might do slightly more if you cut another 200 calories daily, but there's absolutely no need to when you are as successful and comfortable with it as you seem to be. It could even be counterproductive.
(By the way you may still see ups and downs occasionally, because of water. But if you're still eating the same, it's nothing to be concerned out. It works itself out over time.)

While a safe weekly weight loss would be 1-2 pounds per week, there will be weeks you don't lose. There will even be weeks you gain ! And that doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong. There is no SAFE or fast way to lose weight fast. Weight loss is a slow steady process that takes time. You didn't gain the weight overnight, it's not coming off overnight.
Change takes time, thus the need to be patient with yourself and your body.
You've made excellent process so far. Don't allow yourself to be roped into any gimics that say they can help you lose weight fast. they are just that, gimics. I can assure you that if you continue to eat right, watch your portions and get a little regular exercise that includes some strength training, you will continue to lose. However, you may notice your loss slow down. The closer a person is to a healthy weight for their height, the longer it will take to lose those last 5-10 pounds.
Hi all - So I have lost a total of apx 28-30 lbs since starting my weight loss journey. I stopped radical dieting about a month ago, and began counting calories and working out 1-2x/week. I lost 4.5 lbs this past month. I am presently around 170. Is this good progress? I guess I was used to more rapid losses when I was low carbing, however I would go up and down and up, at least this way- i am slowly, but consistently losing. I haven't been this weight since May 2012, so I am happy :) People are starting to notice- which is really encouraging. I do still have a little alcohol each day (most days) but wonder if that might be slowing it down? Or, are my losses going at a good progress and I should just keep trucking along... Thanks all :)
ps- I am tracking my cals on my phone/app, and this past week daily average cals were apx 1500/day. Thanks!
