I totally understand where you are coming from!! I'm the same way, it just seems that there is never enough time in the day to get everything done that needs doing. On the same note I have to agree with HookChick in that until we really and truly want this it won't get done.
A year or so ago I managed to lose 30lbs only to gain it all back. There were many factors including the fact that Dad was diagnosed with cancer in his back and it was like oh it's just a couple of pounds. I can get it off... 2lbs turned into 5lbs (not bad) 5 turned into 10 (eh worry a little but 10 isnt too much) yeah I not worried myself almost all the way back to 299. Good grief!! It is so much harder this time around but NO ONE can do this or want this for me more than I want it for myself.
I'd be willing to take a 10 minute walk daily with you (virtually of course...LOL) if you can fit that into your schedule. Thoughts???
It sounds like your life is pretty busy! It can be really challenging to make changes when you've already got so much going on and other people depending on you.
Maybe you can re-think your evening activities. Are your kids old enough to help with dinner, laundry, cleaning? Is there another adult in the household that can help? Do you live in an area where you could take the whole family for a walk after dinner?
Try making one small change, then another small change. You can do it!
The only way to do it is to do it. If you wait until you FEEL like doing it, or until conditions are perfect, or you feel perfectly motivated, you may never do it! (And this has been a tough lesson to learn!)

Thanks!!! I agree that no one can do it but me, I just need to get out of this slump I am in. :( I appreciate your ideas, starting somewhere is better than no where :) I want to make a small goal this week to not eat after dinner, this is an area that I struggle in...

It's not easy to motivate someone else. Deciding to lose the weight is a personal decision... and you have to feel the effort is worth it. I will tell you... I've found that the older I've gotten, the harder it is to lose weight. So you should really decide to do whatever it takes to lose the weight sooner rather than later.
If being healthier, feeling more fit, or fitting into your clothes better isn't enough motivation, maybe you could try setting some small goals for yourself. For example... lose 5 lbs. - get a mani/pedi ... lose 10 lbs. - buy that new outfit you've been wanting... etc.
Also - don't think of it as a "diet", but as a lifestyle change. Try making small, manageable changes. I don't know a thing about you, but you know what you can do. If you drink a lot of pop for example - start with swapping out one coke with a glass of water (every day)... then every other day... then swap out two a day with water. And so on...
Here are a few ways to "sneak" in a little exercise... park at the back of the parking lot when you're shopping; stop taking the elevator - use the stairs; if your laundry room is downstairs (like mine is), make multiple trips... here's an instance where being inefficient (not grabbing everything in one armload - but having to go back down and up again several times) will help you out in the long run.
Just a few ideas to help you kick yourself into gear. You and your health are worth the effort!

I would really like to lose at least 25 pounds and have felt this way for a while, but when ever I try to start a "diet", or try to work on it my motivation sucks!! Honestly speaking.....I think about taking a walk after work, or getting up early to excersise before work, but it never happens. Once I get home from work I am wrapped into the daily struggle, kids, dinner, laundry, cleaning house, etc...I am so tired I just want to sit down after all that, but I know I need to get my butt up and do something, I weigh more today than I ever have and I need to get this weight off!!! I also need to set some type of plan in place to prepare healthy meals before hand because I tend to grab what ever is easy, and its usually not something healthy.. Please help me with ways to motivate myself!!!
