Dog walking is a great form of exercise. I was socializing a puppy for hearing dogs the past few months and its proved to be all the cardio exercise I need. I worked up to about 5 miles a day. All I would say is that now that my puppy has left the long workouts I was doing before are a bit challenging because with a dog you stop and start a bit whereas a workout is non-stop but good for you get out there - rain or shine - even when you don't feel like it cos you'll be glad you did.

Thank you for all the encouraging messages. The scale might not be showing it but I believe the inches are!!

My best friend goes for walks every night and it really does de-stress her. Good for you and I hope you attain your goal!

I find that walking reduces my stress. I try to get about 1 hour and a half a day but not all at the same time.

I'm finishing up my second week of walking the dogs 2+ miles a day with my husband - not all at once though. Feels good. I'm actually beginning to look forward to those walks.
