Right now, I am using the Walk Away the Pounds Express. The 1 mile is approximately 18 minutes and the 2 mile is approximately 32 minutes. This does include stretching.

1 mile is 15 min 2 mile is 27 min ( I think all additional min are 12 min each so have to add 12 min to the original 15 of mile 1)

How long do the walks last time wise?

Obviously it would be different for the 2 mile versus the 5 mile, but I am just wondering about the time commitment.

I think if you're in relatively good shape to begin with, these dvds will work in 6 weeks. I would use at the very least, the 2 mile walks. Especially the ones that use a resistance band so you can work your arm muscles as well. You may also want to look into Pilates. I use to do that and it is great for shaping up your core.

I spent 6 weeks not working out because of surgery and have 6 weeks to get back into swim suit shape for a vacation. Will the Walk away the pounds videos be enough? Most of them are about 30 min.

I used Leslie Sansone's dvds in the past. They are great.

I have used a variety of DVD's -- but I use Leslie Sansone's about 50% of the time. I keep coming back to hers because they a more pleasant to do.

I prefer the newer ones over the old ones, by the way. The newer ones have more variety in the moves -- and the variety helps keep me from getting bored. The first ones I tried 6 years ago were a bit mind-numbing.

I use them when I can't get outside, I alternate them with the treadmill. Love them and always feel so good when I do a Leslie workout!

I haven't done the DVDs, but I did just start walking on my treadmill (due to the cold/ dark issue... plus I can do it during my son's naptime and don't need to hire a babysitter!). I've learned that after a few days of walking hard, increasing the incline and speed until I'm just barely not running... the more I do that, the more willing I am to just try running for a minute at a time. Then 2 then 5! My personal goal is to just get my heart rate up for at least 45 minutes a day, and I know that in the past, I've definitely been successful losing weight with this walk/ walk-jog regiment. Hope this helps!

Has anyone had successful weight loss using these dvds only? I need to do something and it's too cold and gets too dark too early to be outside.

Thanks!
