Pick one goal and stick with it for a while. Then set another goal. When you've made some progress, increase your goals again. Think of it as being like going up a staircase. You couldn't get all the way to the top in one leap, but if you take it a step at a time you will eventually get there.

Welcome to Spark People !!
I give all new members one piece of advice and it's this,"Don't look at good health with an all or nothing mentality". If the only healthy thing you did for yourself today was drink 8 glasses of water, that's still a step in the right direction. Remember, you're trying to change habits learned over a life time. that's not going to happen overnight, a week, a month or even a year. change takes time, thus the need to be patient with yourself and your body.
Set some simple goals. Don't try to do everything at once or you will end up frustrated. Set some simple goals you can stick with. Example, if you're not eating 6-9 servings of fresh fruit and veggies, set a goal to eat 2-3 servings each day for one week. if you're not exercising, don't try to do an hour a day, set a goal to take a 30 minute walk each day for one week. If you're not drinking 8 glasses of water, set a goal to drink 2-4 glasses each day for one week. Once you've achieved these goals, then you set new ones.
And that's how good health starts. One small change CAN change your life !!

This will get you moving in the right direction and help you set goals and an action plan.
It is fantastic that you are psyched about starting this journey and . Just back up that excitement with knowledge and a mindset that this is not an all or nothing journey because that excitement wanes pretty quickly if you are looking for a quick fix.
If you are meaning by "What am I to do", that you don't know how to start this journey, then I suggest that you take a deep breath and relax. It may seem daunting and frightening, but really, it is neither.
You have taken the first step of this journey by coming here. Where it comes to the site, I suggest that you read the articles and play with the Nutrition Tracker to get used to it, first.
As far as HOW you change what you are doing, to what the healthy way of doing things, is, Just change one or two things to start with and allowing your mind/body to get used to those changes before adding something else to the mix. It might be something as simple as reducing soda/juice and increasing water, or adding an extra piece of fruit or vege to your day. It may ALSO be mobilizing a bit further in your day. If you are accustomed to some exercise, then just going for a regular walk and gradually increasing the length of time you walk, and/or speed. If you aren't accustomed to exercise, it might be getting off the bus a stop sooner, or parking your car a little further away from where you would normally. It might be taking the stairs instead of a lift, or going for more water cooler stops during the day than you would normally.
You will find that in no time at all you will be well on your way, and wonder why you were so worried in the beginning.
Don't focus on the scales because good nutrition in a healthy range, and regular exercise, you will be doing your body a lot of good whether you realize it or not. In time you will notice the changes, and also in time others will notice the changes in you!
You will find that you will get loads more support and make friends a lot more readily if you open your SparkPage allowing others to drop by. They would be able to leave encouraging little messages, and the occasional goodie (always nice to get), but of course, you don't HAVE to open it.
