i AM REALLY GLAD i READ ALL THE REPLIES to this message board. I will now add my two cents worth. "THERE AINT NO EASY CHAIN GANG", WE CHAIN OURSELVES TO SELF GRATIFICATION (FOOD) and then we become food addicted, so we must have to discipline ourselves to take care of our health and bodies. I stand guilty of the habit of living to eat instead eating to live, but I corrected it a long time ago, however it did not leave, its always there just undercover waiting for a chance to reappear and say GOTCHA SUCKER emoticon

It took about 18 years to get this gunk ON me-so I'm not expecting it to be OFF in 18 days. LOL. Hopefully 18 months! emoticon

I was sitting in the waiting room of my endocrinologist one time, his waiting room at the time was shared with a group of cardiologist on the flip side. I was sitting there reading a magazine and a lady sitting close to me started talking to me. She was in for her third heart attack. I asked her what she thought caused it. She said she knew and was told the diet drugs that are advertised. She said she would rather die then have weight on her. I asked her if she exercised and she said no. She said all she did was take those metabolife pills and bam she lost weight.

Often times people will take these drugs, thinking ahh I can lose weight. Sure you can lose weight but the effects that it has on other internal organs is significant. That is why it is more important to follow what your doctor says. A primary doctor will refer you to a baractric specialist, a nutritionist, anything you need to do it safely.

Over the years I have struggled with the weight and I am doing it the old fashion way with Spark People I might not have instant results but it feels safer. My uncle told me this you can lose weight but you can't change ugly. And that is so true.

I think in our culture we want things like yesterday. And although we are evolving our weight wasn't put on over night even if were on steroids, it takes time and patience. And not everyone is suppose to be thin. When we accept ourselves as ourselves I think our weight loss comes off easier.

it's funny how people want a quick fix to get it off but........they never ask how to gain tons of weight.

LOL There is none!!! Hard work and perseverance to follow a good plan for diet and exercise. If there was a shortcut, I doubt our country would have the problem with obesity that it does.

It's the addiction factor that is the real bugger in all of this stuff, and it resurfaces often.

Plan for tomorrow, but enjoy the heck out of today.

I so wish there was a shortcut.

My mom always says, if you gain lose weight quickly. You can gain it back twice as fast. And that is true.
