I have three children 18, 15, 6 and a husband who travels 50% oh and did I mention I work.. I bounce from single to help and let me tell you it is not easy sometimes to followthru. The easiest would be to say, ok lets have another snuggle time. We belong to a gym and I really want to join in the tennis, to get the me time in, but summer times rough. The oldest one has his soccer/work and can't help drive the other two. We live in the mountains of Colorado so obviously there are many things that the kids can do with me. The older boys do help with their little sis once a while, but getting everyone's coordinated efforts is such a struggle. Anyway, I didn't mean for this to be a dump it was more of,I understand. So I never like to throw something out without some sort of possible solution. Here is mine and it has worked this week.
First, put everyones schedule for week on calendar. Have a family powwow about the hours I want to hike. Let them know....that is my schedule and I need one of you to help with sis. Who is going to volunteer and get a free lunch on mom?
Bribery, maybe. Successful, definitely!

Yeah, I am working on that. "Me" time is a little harder. Moving into that one a little more slowly. Thanks for the tip though.

Besides the caps, there were no breaks at all. I got out of breath after the first few lines. LOL But for the content, good on ya. Back in the days I was very active with my kids activities and that's what kept me fit. I only wish I would have still found more "me" time though.
After both my kids grew up and no longer needed me as coach, manager, trainer, etc. I lost focus and became just a spectator. Again, I sure wish I would have done more "me" time. So I all of a sudden found myself out of shape and without my young athletes around to keep me in line.
Due to my early years of being in very good shape and my active participation when the kids were young, I thankfully did NOT get extremely out of shape and it has now only taken me around 5 months to get to an acceptable fitness level. But now I do have "me" time and plan to get back to great fitness. So keep it up and keep the faith, but understand, it will pass and you need to make arrangements to stay fit on your own.
So many people are new to the 'net and don't know that....

Sorry about that it is the default on my work computer and I tend to forget it is on. Especially when I'm just quickly throwing something out there like and email or blog on a 5 min break. I am sorry if you took it the wrong way it was just over looked by me not looking up to proof read the blog.
I don't know if you know this, but writing in ALL CAPS is considered rude and shouting on the internet. Plus, it makes your post extremely difficult for people to read. I know I could not make it through....

I AM A SINGLE MOM OF A GREAT DAUGHTER WHICH IS WONDERFUL BUT IT MAKES THINGS REALLY BUSY. I WORK FULL-TIME AND GO TO COLLEGE PART-TIME WHICH THAT ALONE WITHOUT THE WHOLE MOTHER ROLE IS VERY TIME CONSUMING. TO ADD TO THAT MY DAUGHTER IS BIG INTO GIRL SCOUT WHICH HAS BEEN GREAT FOR HER. IT HAS GIVEN HER THE ABILITY AND CONFIDENCE TO TAKE HER IDEAS AND MAKE THEM HAPPEN AND TO STAND UP FOR CHANGE SHE THINKS NEEDS TO HAPPEN IN THE WORLD AND HER LIFE. ( NOTE SHE IS 8 AND THIS IS HER 5TH YEAR IN SCOUTS).TO HELP HER IN HER GOALS AND AMBITIONS I BECAME ONE OF HER GIRL SCOUT LEADERS, YET ANOTHER ROLE THAT TAKES TIME. THERE IS EVENTS AND TRIPS, MEETING TO PLAN, ETC. I AM THANKFUL THOUGH THAT MY DAUGHTER LOVES TO PLAN MEETINGS AND HAS PLANNED MANY ON HER OWN EVEN THOUGH SHE IS THE YOUNGEST SCOUT IN HER TROOP ( BY AT LEAST A YEAR). SHE ALSO DOES KARATE AND SPORTS TOO( SOCCER 2 SEASONS AND BASKETBALL 1 SEASON). SO WITH ALL THIS GOING ON WEIGHT LOSS GOT PUT ON THE BACK BURNER OVER AND OVER AGAIN.FINALLY ENOUGH WAS ENOUGH I WAS SICK OF FEELING SLUGGISH AND LACKING ENERGY SO WHEN SHE SWITCHED TO A DIFFERENT LEAGUE FOR SPORTS I VOLUNTEERED TO COACH. THIS HELPED SOME BUT OVERALL ITS LITTLE TIME WHERE I GET TO RUN AROUND WITH THE KIDS BECAUSE I'M HELPING SOME MANY OF THEM WITH DIFFERENT SKILLS. SO I TRIED WALKING ALL THESE OTHER THINGS BUT SOMETIME MY DAUGHTER WAS TOO TIRED OR SHE DIDN'T WANT TO ETC AND I COULDN'T LEAVE HER HOME ALONE AND I COULDN'T AFFORD CHILDCARE. THIS YEAR EVERYTHING CHANGED HER BEING A LITTLE OLDER HELPS 1 TIME A WEEK I DO KARATE WITH HER. WELL RIGHT AFTER HER MY CLASS STARTS AS HERS ENDS AND SHE WATCHES ME. THIS ALONE IS A BIG HELP BUT IT KEEPS HER UP AN HOUR AFTER HER BEDTIME BUT IT HAS SEEMED TO WORK. THEN MY NEIGHBOR HAD A FRIEND THAT STARTED TEACH ZUMBA NEAR US SO I STARTED THAT TOO BEST PART MY KID CAN COME TOO. SO WITH THAT THINGS STARTED GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. ANOTHER BIG THING THAT HELPED IS LAST YEAR I TAUGHT MY DAUGHTER TO SWIM AND BREATH AT THE SAME TIME SO NOW WE ALSO SWIM LAPS TOGETHER. BIGGEST PART IM WORKING ON NOW IS MAKING A ROUTINE. AT LEAST NOW I HAVE A LIST OF FUN THING TO DO WITH MY DAUGHTER NOW TO MAKE MY SCHEDULE. FOR OTHERS IN A SIMILAR SITUATION HER IS THE LIST OF THINGS ME AND MY DAUGHTER DO TOGETHER.
