but walking in the meadow the other day i saw red-wing blackbirds and snowdrops blooming. a surer sign of spring than anything!...poor phil, dragged from his cozy home - he was just telling us what we wanted to hear so we'd leave him alone!

Punxy Phil will always be ageless, unfortunately, but you can summize that his judgement is a little off this year....even for us in Arizona. Had a few inches of snow about a week and a half ago -- hardly heard of! May your weather warm up soon.

Yes, I agree. The Weather Channel said March and April were going to be warmer than normal. Of course, maybe that is after we have all this crazy weather.

I know and now they are calling for snow on Wednesday, five inches or more.

Phil lied, plain and simple. I figured he had as much of a chance of getting it right as a meteorologist. Meteorologist 1, Phil 0

Beauregard Lee got it right...he predicted 6 more weeks of winter for us. I think he has a better track record than Phil.

he also has a very nice plantation with white columns (Weathering Heights)

I've always considered Punxsutawney Phil to be a cruel joke. In PA spring never comes anytime near Feb 2. Even six more weeks is a pretty optimistic estimate.

wasn't the prediction that spring is just around the corner!? That was a MONTH ago!
