wow that is super awesome! Congrats on your progress. Did you know that in 5 weeks of being a vegan you also helped to save an average of 8 or more animals according to PETA? Pretty neat, huh?

Hi there. Yes there are so many good things that you can eat! I use meat subsitutes, but I try not to use a lot. Kale should be your friend! It is a super food that helps to lower cholesterol too. I sautee kale, in garlic an olive oill. I roast carrorts. I eat a lot of lentils and beans. Here are a few sites to get you started.

That is great news , I too suffer with hereditary high colesterol. And it has been a struggle for me to lower it. it has affected my health so you have encourage me to go veagan. I have wanted to many times but procrastinated. Any tips and simple recipes that could get me started.

Yes, the dairy was super hard to let go for that time. After my results, I did start to add a little back to my diet, and I started having issues with extra mucus. so, until my next doctors visit, I will forgo it to try t get my numbers to normal! After, I learned to live without it, it is not a big deal.

Yay!!! Good for you! Do you feel better without the dairy? I am thinking about cutting it out. I have already switched to almond and coconut milks- but the cheese thing is a problem for me overall. Think I need to squelch it.

Hey guys, about a 5 weeks ago, I went on a vegan diet to see if I could lower my cholesterol level naturally. I have very high cholesterol. It is heredity. So, for 4.5 weeks, I ate no animal products, except eggs whites which have no cholesterol. My starting numbers in March were 346, overall, and my ending number is 329. Your overall should be under 200. My bad was 253, and now it is 235. It should be under 135. So, in 5 weeks, I lowered my numbers 17 pts overall, and 18 pts for my bad.

I also lost about 30 lbs in the process. Before when I was vegetarian, and I lost about 50 lbs, my numbers were still high, because I consumed a lot dairy. I go back to the doctor in January, so I will continue this path, because it is working. My cholesterol is hereditary, and if I don't get it down naturally then I will have to take meds for the rest of my life and I don’t want too! So, I will post again when I get my new numbers. Also, my b12 is fine. I take a b12 vitamin once day.
