"Still no goodie points and no clue how to get them...I get over 100 spark points every day - but still don't want to set my access to the next level back on goodies...."

:::sigh:::

Spark Goodie Points randomly appear on the wheels. THAT is how you get them... they show up on the wheel and the wheel may or may not land on it.
Also, there are no special wheels, as you thought in another post.

Using your points to buy goodies does NOT "set my access to the next level back "... also explained on another post.

LEEBLOOME - Below is a copy and paste from the info tab on e-mails. I am not sure if you have come accross these instructions yet, but in case you haven't this may help.
SparkPeople sends a variety of weekly and daily emails full of information on living a healthy lifestyle. We encourage members to receive and read these emails to learn more and more every day.

On every email newsletter we send you'll find a button at the bottom that "Click Here to Redeem Your SparkPoints." When you click this you'll be taken to our site, and you may need to login if you are not logged in yet.

To receive different emails you can click the Account/Email Preferences link on the upper left of your MySpark page. If you are subscribed to a newsletter but not receiving it's possible that our emails are being blocked by your email provider. If this happens you should check your spam folder/filter and also add mailer@sparkpeople.com to your email address book. If you are still having problems after this you can try contacting your email provider.

One final note - you can still read and get points for emails you received on previous days, and your points will be awarded for the day you actually read the email.

Points: 1 point for every email you read
Maximum: 50 points per day
Points for Previous Dates? No you receive points on the date you read the email (however, you can get points for reading old emails)

I will test this myself when I get a chance. If it does not work we will keep on trying. Good Luck.

Go to My Trackers tab then select spark points then under the Actions Column select e-mail subscriptions and see if you are subscribed to any e-mails. This is only my suggestion. If this still does not work you may have to inquire.

I see you have a lot of points. I have just joined, and i'm not getting the points I should get. I made sparkpeople my home page (tried seven different times) and never got the 25 points. I kep "signing up for e-mails" - I send them and get them - AND NEVER GOT A POINT. I'm not sure why this matters - except it adds a little levity to something so dead serious (losing weight), so I want the points. I made it to level 4 in 4 active days...I guess I'm just a determined achiever - if something is offered, I want to achieve it. Where do I go to get this fixed?

I think the virtual goodies are great ~ I typically use them on my Spark Buddies, or on myself if I met a goal. Considering that the site is free and really works I don't expect any other rewards except self-esteem (that sounds really cheesy I know)

You get free "virtual' gifts, that you can give to yourself or to others.

I think you need to create a Spark page to do so....

I don't think we need to get something because we are earning points, the motivation should be reward enough!
You are here it's free the people are great, you get motivated you blog ,you read,it you don't you don't get points, but it's not about that.
It's about being worth the effort & we are all worth the effort with or without the points!

If you have the extra money, i think it would be a good idea to set aside a certain dollar amount per however many points, then when you hit a certain number, you can go buy yourself something like a new top or something that will excite you when you realize your size has gone down or what not.

For us broke-lings (lol), maybe we should not allow oureselves to measure or weigh until a certain point number, so when we do, we see a major difference? idk just throwing around ideas. its clear a lot of us want something to DO with our points, other wise, what good is it to strive to earn them if there is no real point hahaha those are just some ideas, i'm sure we can each find something to do with them that fit our personal motiviational needs :D

You don't "cash in" points... there is no money involved!
they are not good for anything except motivating yourself and others by giving virtual goodies.

I only been with Spark People for a 2 months now and i love it. I love spark points as an encouragement to each other.I also love the fact that we get trophies for what we accomplish that's motivating. Tracking your nutrition, goals, and fitness is also a fantastic part of SP.

Good point the freedom from all the extra weight is payment enough. I would like to see special options for the sight as you gain spark points. Like the ability to customize certain widgets or gain other access that others don't have. I think the idea of attaining levels is good but you have to attach a reward of some kind or the novelty wears off.

I think the motivations SparkPeople has built into the site are great. I'm surprised how motivating extra points are.

I don't expect to get freebies, but I would like to see an option to purchase a real item for friends on SparkPeople. I'd love to be able to actually send something like a SparkPeopl water bottle to someone else. But this seems like a privacy nightmare.

Don't they provide enough free things? It seems to me that we're already getting so much. When did we become a society that constantly expects free gifts? I think we should take a second and consider the great gift Sparkpeople gives already without asking what more they can give.

with or without the spark goodies and trophies this site is awesome.. mostly because there are so many of us here to cheer eachother on.. those other things are an added bonus. I personally love seeing new trophies and things that I've earned.

I have to agree with HSMOM2FOUR...The simple fact that Sparks is free is AWESOME...I had been looking for a sight like this for a long time and when I came across it I was amazed. I enjoy communication with my fellow Sparkies, and using my Spark points to give "goodies" is great. I am the type of person that looks forward to meeting a goal or challenge, and the fact that they give "Trophies" for completing something is a great motivator for me. The tracking is amazing and I love the recipes, articles, and videos...If this got changed by giving away merchandise then the whole site would change...No I have to say I like things the way they are...Change is good, but it has to be for the better...

While getting 'stuff' is fun, I love the comraderie that is built by spending our points on encouraging our sparkfriends. I also love that SparkPeople is built upon doing the right thing -- just because it's the right thing to do -- and not because you are going to get some 'thing' for it. I'm afraid that while it would be fun to get some great SP stuff, it would markedly change a lot of the dynamics here. The financial aspect of it is another issue, and I just love the fact that SP is free. They do a lot of give-aways through the SparkDaily and various challenges, and even through the SparkWheel. Don't think getting it with SparkPoints is necessary at all.

I would love that but agree that they would probably have to have the items donated since the site is free.

Maybe if they had donated items from larger companies they could incorporate the items on the site somehow to cash in a large amount of points toward the items.

Since Spark is a free site, they do not have the money to provide those things AND to ship them out.

I think it would be awesome if we could use our spark points to "buy" or trade in to get free things from sparks people. Like t-shirts, water bottles ect or even work out dvd's. i would love this!!
