Good day to all of us 1950's people. DH came home from the hospital on Tuesday, late in the afternoon. He had a very bad reaction to the adhesive on his dressings and has blisters which burst and also a rash all around his right abdominal area and up the right side of his back. He has had to go to a walkin clinic in order to have his dressings changed by a nurse. I am told it is if he is being treated for 3rd degree burns. I took him today and the nurse has advised that no more dressings be put over the incisions in order to have the area dry out and heal. He has to use a topical ointment on the area which hopefully will help heal the rash. He also has to use a gargle for his throat which is still irritated due the tube put down his throat during the surgery. On top of all that, he is still breathing shallowly which we have been told to keep an eye on and get him to emergency if required.

We are quite a pair, as while he was still in hospital, I was informed that I have a hernia that will mean more surgery for me. Oh how frustrating it is. Hopefully this is it for us and 2012 will be a MUCH better year.
