You might find it helpful to plan out your menu for the day then eat your plan.
For example I know that everyday for breakfast I will have my protein shake, a fiber bar and 2 cups of coffee for 400 calories.
Then I will have a snack of yogurt, 90 calories. Then lunch will be chicken or tuna and veggies , another 300 calories, another snack will be veggies and hummus....etc...
I plan out 1400 calories everyday and eat on a regular schedule.

I have a tendency to under eat when I get involved in any big project so for me knowing it's time to eat helps to keep my energy levels up and keeps me from pigging out at night.

I have the same problem so I keep granola bars or protein bars around to boost my calories when I find I'm not making it to the correct range for the day.

Personally, I am always interested in eating.

But I do think it is common for appetite to diminish when a former non-exerciser begins to work out regularly.

I've always had that problem. I don't eat very much and sometimes I don't feel like eating.

I don't experience a loss of interest in eating when I exercise, but if I don't eat enough to support my physical activity (even if I have no appetite), on the evening of the day after I will be RAVENOUS. And then it's REALLY hard for me to control what I eat if I don't have a plan, which leads to binge eating. So I try to maintain consistent eating even if I'm not interested. On the other hand, sometimes if I'm injured or ill, I really don't need the same number of calories as I would when I'm more active. So, I give myself permission to eat much less than I ordinarily do. It is hard to gauge sometimes but I'm getting better at it.

keep an eye on that.............
your appetite will naturally be suppressed while you are working out.......make sure that you keep the proper fuel going in..........even when you dont feel like it......
i discovered that when i fell prey to my bad eating habits (not eating enough) i had really crappy run times. our bodies will consume our muscles while we are working out (there goes all our progress) if there isnt proper fuel to consume.

It's not uncommon. Intense exercise can often suppress appetite for a while. (Something about body temperature, maybe? Because swimming is the one thing that notably does not do it to me.) But anyway -- it tends to catch up after a couple of days like the previous poster said. Not a big deal unless it persists.

Yesterday I went over my cal for the day!
That is a first in three months. I usually battle to just hit goal. It is not that easy if you can't eat any sugar, to much fat or more than one cup of food at a time. (The secret is to eat many times, as in every two hours)

This is a chronic problem for me. It is truly amazing but when I eat plenty of healthy food, and get in plenty of physical and mental activity, I lose weight. Food is fuel.

I am guilty of this as I spend a lot of time training and tend to undereat for the caloric burn I create. I have a BODY MEDIA tracker and I find it is great to keep me on track!

I usually do the first couple of days. Don't worry about it. I used to really worry, but then I realized, it catches up with you. About the third day of that nonsense, my appetite comes back with a vengeance. For me at least, I think it takes a day or two for my metabolism to fire up and adjust to burning larger amounts of calories.

With a busy schedule it and adding in working out, it is easy for me to under eat. I keep almonds and some power bars in my desk to snack on to keep that calorie count up there.

I have to force myself to eat sometimes too, but I know if I don't do that I will go into sarvation mode and stop losing weight. That terrible metabolic crash. I really try to get my 1200cal a day.
I don't really feel hungry after working out, but I know to eat something right after, to fuel the furnace and to prepare for the next day.
Try swimming, I am usually starving after a swim of more than 30 min.

I also have plantar fasciitis so I feel for you. While I work out it seems ok but the minute I finish I limp around the rest of the day. I have logged over 120 miles in the past month with this and it is not fun. I bought croc sandals and they seem to help. I am about to try those Dr. Scholl inserts in my gym shoes. Mine doesn't hurt when I'm off my feet so that is a good thing. My doctor told me to never walk around barefoot. That is when I'm in the most pain.

I am usually pretty hungry after I work out and if I eat way under my calorie count one day the next day I don't have any energy during my workout so my calorie burn isn't as good. I encourage you to eat your calories no matter what.

I am wondering if some people experience a loss of interest in eating when they first start up with a fitness routine. Granted, I am starving when I workout. But otherwise I have to force myself to eat something 3x per day. The last two days I didn't work out because I have this plantars fasciitis thing that I am dealing with. I am getting new shoes and orthotics that will help me push through. I figure a couple days off from the gym is ok and tomorrow I am going to think about going to that spinning class. But for dinner I just ate a piece of wheat bread and a bite of cheese just to keep the metabolism awake. I did something similar basically all day so I am way under my calorie count and I know this is not good. Just wondering if anyone experienced this ever.
