That's great. I have tried a pedometer, but it didn't work for me. Either it was too cheap and wasn't working right or I didn't wear it right. I have a "sitting" job so really have to work at moving around during the day.
For exercise today, I went to the gym and did 10 minutes of cardio on the eliptical to warm up and then did strength training, upper body, for 40 minutes then 5 minutes on the eliptical to cool down.
Very short walk with the dogs outside because it was SO cold (7 degrees - cold for here.)
So, today I did the treadmill. 4 miles - most of it at an incline of 1 and speed of 5.0, with two (or maybe 3) very short walking breaks at 4.0. Then I took the dog for a half mile walk outside to cool down.
Do what you just did! I need someone to report to so I can keep myself accountable. I know its for me, but I also know me and I do better when I report to someone else. No competition, just reporting. I am 53 y/o, finally down into the merely overweight category and no longer obese (GO ME!) and struggle daily with calories and exercise and probably will for the rest of my life. I have never been a workout buddy before. I try for five days of exercise a week, two concentrating on strength and three cardio, with a one-mile walk outside on days I don't exercise. Wanna try something? You don't have to do what I do and I don't have to do what you do, but we can help motivate each other to keep moving....
