Welcome back to SparkPeople!

Based on what I've read, you should aim for 30 min of cardio 5 times per week and strength training around 3 times. You should have a day of rest in between strength training to allow your muscles to recover.

I'm not really new to Sparkpeople--more like starting over--because I've been maintaining my weight for about 2 years, when I still need to lose those last 10 pounds. My diet is good, but I'm very confused about exercise for weight loss.

How much cardio/strength training should I do a day to LOSE weight?
Do I need to do, for example, 60 minutes of cardio six days a week, PLUS an additional 30 minutes of strength training 3 days a week?
Are HIIT cardio exercises too intense for weight loss? How often can they be done? Should I be doing less intense exercise if my goal is weight loss?
Thanks in advance.
