Hello all - I'm 29 and TTC #1. I am on my second round of Clomid, which comes with numerous side effects, including weight gain. I am at a healthy weight (within the ideal range) but not wanting to gain before getting pregnant (I have no problem with healthy weight gain during pregnancy!). I've been very careful to research and talk with my doctor about diet and exercise. In general, you want to maintain as healthy a diet as possible and exercise regularly throughout conception and pregnancy, as it aids with delivery. However, high impact exercise is warned against for obvious reasons. Ellipticals are strongly recommended - we bought a new one last week to replace our old. Best of luck!
First and foremost, ask your ob/gyn. Only a medical professional who works with pregnancy and pregnant women will have the right answer for you!
Secondly, a healthy body and spirit is a healthy place for a baby to grow. I cannot see how exercise while you're trying to conceive will affect your chances, but, again, I'm no medical professional.
However, make sure you're working closely with your healthcare provider so that once you are pregnant, you don't do anything to jeapordize the health of your fetus.
