I've recently been pushing myself to get points, too, and it's a great way to make a fun game out of getting more information and becoming more involved.

Thank you, SkinnyLumpkin. Let's do our best! I am still not sure of how the Spark Points system works, but yes, if it'll help, then great. I have been reading quite a lot of articles as well. Some are very interesting. I have been trying to stick to the meal plan, and hopefully it will help. Stay strong too.

I only have a bout 3 weeks of SparkPeople under my belt myself, but it has been a fantastic experience. I don't care so much about the "Spark Points" but I have been pushing myself to get the points because in doing so I am directed to reading articles, blogs and message boards that have served invaluable in educating me about nutrition, dieting and my overall well-being.

Try to stick with the SparkPeople recommendations the best you can, from the meal planning to the reading etc. and I think you will find it easier and easier to pass up those snacks for something healthy pretty quickly. Stay focused and be strong!

1/27/12 10:56 A lose my habit of snacking! Every time I get home, from anywhere (literally, anywhere. Shopping, karaoke, even eating out), I always open the refrigerator and grab some snack. Those little devils come in all sorts of shape and size. Chocolate bars, cookies, cakes, chips... and I love them all so much! =
My habit got the better of me and I have been growing in terms of clothing size, especially since the holidays. Well, you know how tough holidays can get for people like us :'(
I just found out about SparkPeople yesterday, and I thought this might be the very thing that can help me shake off those accumulating pounds.
So, nice to meet you all.
