Good job everyone on your training. I just did my 3rd 1/2 last Sunday. We walked the water breaks and stopped a good 4 minutes at mile 6. I crossed the finish line at 2:16. My Mom died 3 weeks ago and I considered not doing the race. Instead I dedicated it to her. Maybe next one I will be closer to a 2:00 finish.

I am also doing the Dam to Dam and it's a month away! My goal is to cross the finishline without needing to crawl. No specific times I want to finish it in, I just want to finish before the 3.5 hours are up :)

I am training for my first 20k, Dam to Dam on June 4th. I can't wait to cross the finish line to have the feeling of accomplishment :)

Woo hoo!! Congratulations! I ran my first HM in March...another in April and I have my third in two weeks. Crazy but they are addicting!

You may want to check out some of the SP Half Marathon teams under SparkTeams, there are a bunch.

Congratulations and good luck!

I just signed up to run a half on May 15th. I haven't run a race in about a year, but I'm not untrained either. It's in Geneva... I'm excited.

I am doing my first half on May 15th! The hardest part of my training was getting past all of the mental blocks.

AWESOME! I ran a half marathon yesterday on a complete whim. 13.25 miles. I didn't do it all at once and I did walk a portion of it but only 'cause I was at relay for life fighting against cancer!

Its the first time I've EVER ran so much in a single day. I R PROUD! Good luck on your actual half a marathon!

YES!! I'm signed up for my first half in September. I've only been running for a couple months, but I'm slowly increasing my mileage as well as my confidence. I'll add you as a buddy, and you can feel free to add me!

I've also joined the Half-Marathon Spark team, and I've gleaned a lot of good info from their message boards. Mostly questions I never would have even thought to ask!

I ran my first half in March, the training plan I used was Jeff Galloway's. Google that. My friend used the Hal Higdon one. You just have to look at what is doable for you.

Well way to go on such an ambitious goal! No, no half marathons for me, but my goal is to run one in 2012. I'm preparing myself for a 5K in 3 weeks and will be working this summer to run longer and longer distances.

Half marathons are generally only twisted and sick around mile 8 or 9. Then you realize you are almost done. emoticon

I just ran my 4th this morning and will be racing another in late August. I am always available for moral support.

No but i am going to watch the Leeds half marathon in England next Sunday,my husband and son and daughter in law are running.
My husbands a bit worried as he has pulled a muscle in his back this week,so we are hoping it will have cleared up by next week.

Yeah! Starting a marathon training plan soon! Running for the American Cancer Society in December-The California International Marathon. More scared about the mental then the physical. But to accomplish that would be amazing. Can't wait!

Twisted and sick? No, not really. emoticon
I need to find a walking plan. There is one I want to do in 17 weeks.

I signed up fro my first half marathon last night. It's October 2nd which is 22 weeks away. I found a beginner's training program online that is for 12 weeks but is adaptable to my time frame. I'm not a runner so this is more of a mental stretch to conquer this, twisted and sick most definitely. I'm guessing it will prove to be challenging after the first few weeks so I wanted to find someone else(or ten) training for their first half as well for a buddy/support/chat-compare notes thing? Anyone? emoticon
