Likely not. The SP tracker is usually pretty accurate, but for the elliptical, it doesn't take into account for the resistance, and the elliptical doesn't translate the same as a treadmill does. Did the machine you use have a calorie burn estimate? If so, use that; it can be off by 20% or more, but it's not going to be off as badly as the SP amounts.

I would also recommend investing in a HRM with a chest strap for more accurate estimates of your calorie burn.

I did the elliptical for 60 minutes on Sunday, and when I entered it in Sparkpeople, it said I'd burned 788 calories. This seems so high! I am 5' 10" and I weigh 185 (27 years old), and I used the machine at a moderate pace. Is this really accurate?
