I've been struggling with anxiety/panic off an on for the past few weeks, irrational fears creep into my mind and worse case scenarios. I'm tired of internally battling myself trying to talk myself down from things i cant control.

Today i hope to get through the day and actually believe myself when i tell myself i'm much stronger than i give myself credit for

Today, depression and anxiety will not and did not allow me to tell myself that it is okay to gorge myself with 1000s of calories.

There are different forms of depression from acute, to severe, and different forms of anxiety. I was utilizing this post for anyone who have been diagnosed with either, or both. Whether you are taking medication, utilizing cognitive therapy or other means of treatment, depression and anxiety can still be a struggle. I started this post as a way to verbally regain the power that depression and anxiety can have or seemingly have over an individual. emoticon

Today depression and anxiety will not hinder me from feeling good about myself today.

BTW the party was better than I could have imagined and I was able to experience it anxiety free! emoticon

Are we discussing on here Clinical Depression and diagnosed Anxiety?? Big difference then just saying depression and anxiety. Medication does wonders if one is truly suffering from clinical depression and anxiety. I'm glad to read some wonderful advice on here.

Depression can come from your past with the people in it. Anxiety is not fun either. I had many years of both.

I worked with a natural path and my doctor to find what I needed to change.

1. Change the way you eat. 2. Change your sleeping patterns and stay on a schedule with a slight change when needed. 3. Make sure to get 8-9 hours of sleep. 4. Sometimes taking a antidepressant only for sleep 30- 1 hour before you are for sure going to bed. Check with doctor what is best for you. 5. I have had made some friend changes and either I see them less or not at all for a reason. (drama or just bad news or bad habits that you are now grown out of).
6. Church for whatever religion is a good peaceful and loving place. Also good if you are in a relationship. Find groups that relate to your journey right now.
7. Find where you like to work out home or otherwise and set a good time. You can set times for your breaks or lunches as well. Keep moving.
8. Schedule time alone for a book or a great movie.
9. Just an idea you can go room to room and go through your old stuff or new. But maybe needs a positive updating or donating somethings. Redecorate or paint something that will spice up the places you see each day.
10. Kitchen make over. Food or pots and pans ect. This will work when you are making your meals and a nice place to be. I like putting on a CD or radio while in the kitchen and maybe a candle?
Some people don't eat at the table as much these days. Maybe bring that to life with flowers and a new table cloth. Making a happy place for everyone to come eat and share the days news ect.

Well those are some thoughts to keep busy and try a clean slate.

Good luck to you!!!

I think of depression more as a mental and durability test that I am trying to pass. Otherwise the term depression could lead one to be stuck in one position or used as an excuse not to act

Oh boy. Tomorrow (it's bed time) depression will not keep me from loving myself, no matter how hard it tries. I am sick and tired of all the criticism I bring upon myself. It's exhausting. I went to a therapist but it doesn't seem to have made a difference in the depression sector, but it has helped me deal with anxiety, which used to be debilitating. Anxiety doesn't rule my life anymore, and depression is better than it was, but it still hasn't gone away for good.

I have ADHD and depression and anxiety are the past- therapy changed my way of thinking.. Just needed a reality check - the therapist was blown away and gave me cudo's for solving problems..

If I am not good at talking to people- I did a communications class and learned non violent communication- believe this is not a natural to all people.. Marshall B. Rosenberg, founder and developer of Nonviolent Communication and is a wonderful man!

As someone who has battled depression nearly all of my life, and anxiety a good part, I am starting a post where I and anyone else who would like to join me, can verbally declare one thing depression and/or anxiety cannot have in our lives "today." I'm thinking some days will be more hopeful than others, but a day that I can accomplish even one thing without letting fear, doubt and being overwhelmed in, is a good day! So....

Today Depression and anxiety will not keep me from getting dressed and combing my hair today! emoticon
