When I first started tracking my food daily, I realized how unbalanced my eating was-- I was seriously, seriously protein deficient, eating less than 20 g of protein a day, stuffing myself with carbs and still constantly hungry! Once I increased my protein intake I began to feel much more satisfied, but it took a few weeks and some serious effort to break my carb addiction. After that, I found that it was actually a challenge just to get 1200 calories a day (but I made myself reach that minimum) and I cannot believe how quickly the weight came off. I would recommend trying to increase your protein to see if it helps. Best of luck to you!

Hey Erin Ty so much for ur amazing advice....my intake is between 1200 and 1550 I use the food tracker on here as much as possible so I can stay on track!....u think u could MSG me so maybe I can b a pain to u and ask some questions...lol Ty again for everything

I second what erinmtn said about decaf tea-- that is a great way to ward off nighttime cravings. I like the Sleepytime brand with some sweet-n-low.

Hi. I'm a 50 year-old nutritionist with a B.S. from a major university (not an on-line program - there's a big difference) and personal trainer. You don't mention what your caloric intake is, but if you aren't journaling, you should be. It is possible you are trying to cut too many calories out of your diet or not eating enough of a specific nutrient group (complex carbohydrates, protein, healthy fats). Perhaps you need to evaluate that first. Then, change what you do in the evening. Knit, clean, Iron, read to the baby, cross-stitch, chew gum, drink decaf teas, go to a different room and stretch, take a shower, do yoga....journal, plan the next day's activities.... Distraction DOES work if you are eating enough. Be open to any ideas. Change is challenging, but worth it. give yourself 6 weeks to push through and it WILL get easier. and remember this...Whenever you feel like giving up, remember WHY you started. Good luck! Erin

So....here's my story and would absolutely love any advice help or tips!! I am a stay at home mom of a 19 month old so I do something's around the house but don't get out muchnduebto the fact we have just 1 car. I do make it to the gym daily mon thru fri for about a hour ( just started ) and I am making healthier food choices! The problem is as I sit here in the evenings I get super bored and all I wanna do is eat everything constantly.....has anybody else gone thru this? How do u subside it? What do u do? I've tried occupying my time with other things but all I can still think about is eating! And right now it's hard to go walk somewhere cuz it's so cold out and my 19 month old is already constantly sick! I've tried water to...ugh....I just don't know what to do...I feel like I'm out of options...anybody that can help me or with any tips plz feel free to MSG me or comment...tyvm
