The good thing about circuit training is that you can add weights for intensity. Start small and be mindful that the results will not be on the scale as you will think however, you can tell in your inches and clothes. You'll find something that works for you!

For beginning exercise, circuit training is OK.
However, it is neither truly cardio nor it is truly strength training. Thus, if you are not a beginner, and would like more strength and cardio benefits from your workouts, you might try weight lifting 2-3 times a week, and cardio workouts of your choice in the non-weight lifting days (plus one or two rest days depending on the intensity of your workouts).

I think circuit training is a great way to start a weight training program without having to do too much planning. Even if you move quickly from machine to machine, I don't think you get the same quality cardio workout as you do on a traditional piece of cardio equipment like an elliptical machine, bike, treadmill, etc. My suggestion would be to keep up with the cardio but add a some weight training to build muscle and increase your basal metabolic rate.
Like ARCHIMEDESII any exercise routine you stick with will work. As for whether it is a good method or not, my motto has always been: The exercise you will actually do is better than the exercise everyone says is the best, but you wont actually do.

If you've been sedentary for a long time, Curves or any similar type of circuit training would be a good way to ease into a regular exercise routine. Is it a good workout ? Sure, any type of activity that gets your body moving is a good activity. What you do for exercise depends on what your goals are. If you're looking to be a bit fitter, then why not give it a try ? If you don't like it, you can try something else.
When it comes to exercise, what matters most is consistency. Because the exercise doesn't stop once we've lost the weight. If we want to take the weight off and keep it off, we need to be active in some way for our entire life.
like the type at Curves. As good as walking or stationary bike for cardio? My gym has a room just for women with this type of workout. Haven't tried it yet, as I've just been sticking with bike, treadmill, and ST machines. Thanks
