Yes, it's outrageous. You can make the same food at home for a lot less money and the food will be just as tasty and it will be healthier. You will also know exactly how your food has been prepared, and by whom.

I agree that almost all the places in our area are doing the same thing. With salaries going up or owners wanting a bigger profit margin, this is what happens when everyone thinks they deserve a "bigger" piece of the pie. Eating out was a rare occasion in my younger years. Now EVERYONE goes out to eat several times a week!!!! Even the neighbors with kids order pizza home delivery three and four times a week. That's $50 or $60 dollars a week. You could get some really good home cooked meals for that price.

One should just take your phone out, take photos of the food still uneaten, the menu withbthe price and tell the manager that unless they provide a decent portion, one is sending the info to a news paper?
I AGREE. AND WE FIND FAST FOOD IS SO OVER PRICED AND WE PREFER TO GO TO A FAMILY RESTAURANT WHERE WE CAN GET HEALTHY BROILED FISH, SALAD, & BAKED POTATO FOR VERY LITTLE MORE AND THE PORTIONS USUALLY EQUAL TWO PORTIONS! ALSO, A PET PEEVE...MAKING ITEMS SMALLER, SUCH AS BUN SIZE, HAMBURGER PATTY OR FISH FILET AND CHARGING THE SAME...LIKE WE WON'T NOTICE...LOL.

yeah they have really cut down, I complained to one of the restaurants we go to. They use to have good portions and we'd have to take it home there was just so much for your money and when we went the last time omg couldn't believe how small it was and nothing left to take home! They sent me a gift certificate in the mail and apologized , we used it and you know what the same thing happened and it's soooooooooooooo far away from us we are just not going to go there anymore, when you pay good money you expect a decent meal.

Many years ago my husband and I liked a chain mexican resturant. They were great with great big plates. Then they started getting smaller and smaller. Their sides got way to small and we stopped going.
I know that McDonalds has gotten in trouble for super siezing food..but I do agree with you, don't serve me a bowl smaller then what I would eat at home.
I know that restaurants have to earn a profit. But last night, when me and my family went out to a restaurant, we ordered 5 dishes with rice. 4 of the dishes were in teeny tiny portions! But the steamed fish was alright except it was RM45!!!! The entire meal cost close to RM100!!!
RM is Malaysian ringgit. I wouldn't mind the price it the portions were big enough but for 4 teeny tiny plates?! It's ridiculous!
