There are definitely occasional blowups. But one thing you'll find is a carefully moderated community is a much happier community. When things do blow up here, staff is generally quickly on the problem, keeping it from getting nasty.

It's something I wish more communities would understand. Professional moderators are a requirement for any community that wishes to thrive!

Since being retired I've done alot of internet surfing, and I've started to read the comments after the articles I read on MSN. Most of the time I just laugh and shake my head wondering if these people actually read their own comments. Other times I do respond especially when people continually put down fast food workers, and minnimum wage workers. I got angry one morning when someone said all fast food workers were illiterate teenages and young kids who didn't deserve to get more pay.

On this sight I've never seen a bad reply to a post, or a negative reply. No name calling either. If I do the posts are pretty much cleaned up soon afterwards by our great coaching team. Keep up the great job Spark people for having a very positive community. We need more like you on this world wide web.
