I have been on my weight loss journey for about 2 years-with a 92 lb weigh loss.
Part of r reason that I have shown success is: I'm not doing the same things I
used to do.
Last Thanksgiving I started my day with a meeting. Prior to that I had asked my adult children
"what food choices make it Thanksgiving for you?" Surprisingly, not many. I found I was making a lot more choices than I needed and some because I had always done it that way for years. So, I streamlined my menu, putting their choices as the central theme and then added lots more greens and vegetable side dishes. The pies and other really calorie dense choices that were requested, I farmed out to the DDI's and asked them to take the leftovers back home with them-so, we were left with healthy choice leftovers.
This saved money, time and kept me on track.
I discovered the major participant in the feeding frenzy was me and it was time for it to stop.
I repeated the same activity for Christmas and the weight loss continued through the holidays. Holy Moly-can you believe something so simple paid off?
What are you willing to change to make healthy choices over the holidays?
