I'm not sure if you're at a desk job or not, but that's when I would always crash at my last office job. I found that taking 5 minutes on my afternoon break to stretch and do some quick arm circles in my cubicle to get my heart rate up actually woke me up more than any food I ate.

Thanks, all! Good call on the carbs...I do tend to eat a lot of those at lunch time. I'll cut back on that and try some of these suggestions instead.

It might also help you to eat fewer carbs at lunch. You might be having a carbohydrate crash if your lunch has lots of carbs (e.g. white sandwich bread, dessert, potatoes, chips, fries, etc.) If you are eating a high carb lunch, that may be contributing to your problem.

I like a slice of bread with one tablespoon of peanut butter. I like a couple of big dates stuffed with a Brazil nut. I like fruit.

Make sure to get water too, it can help a lot.
I may not be there yet but I'm closer than I was yesterday.
I got tired of starting over and working back to where I was, so I have stopped giving up!
If you can spare a few calories, there are some great "larabar" type recipies on sparkrecipies.com. I find that I end up eating less calories later on after eating one of these because they fill me up and cure my sweet cravings. They also help me get in the extra protein I often have trouble with.

So it's almost 2pm, and that seems to be the time of day that I have an energy crash. It happens every day without fail. What are some healthy snack ideas to help give me an energy boost? And as much as I love coffee, please don't say it. I'm only allowing myself 2 cups a day now. lol.
