That part about the Greeks dressing an old man up in animal skins and beating him and shooing him out of the city is pretty brutal..Civilization can be less than civil, huh?
Still, an interesting read. I love stuff about ancient Greeks, ancient Romans, ancient Egyptians, et al. My dad was a real history buff, but more "recent"-like wars and battles, and government, whereas I like the stuff B.C. and very early A.D.
