Azulvioleta6- A little history lesson here ;)
The first Canadian Thanksgiving was celebrated by Martin Frobisher, an explorer from England, who arrived in Newfoundland in 1578. He wanted to give thanks for his safe arrival to the New World. It's now celebrated more closely related to the harvest festivals in Europe rather than the USA's Thanksgiving.

I am curious about Canadian Thanksgiving...do you have a cultural story around the holiday or is it just a harvest celebration?
In the United States there is a complex mythology around Thanksgiving based on the story of the Mayflower pilgrims and their relationship with the local indigenous people in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
Somehow or other, the US always seems to think that we need to help everyone...to the expense of the average citizen who pays the taxes... I'm glad that there are SOME level headed people in Congress...although right now, I think they've gone in hiding and the "tea-baggers" have taken over. But, my years tell me that this, too shall pass.

Happy Thanks giving everyone thats celebrating. Lots of thinks to be thankful for. No wars in Canada. Rest of the troops coming back. For family and friends and lots of food.
