Hello and !! My name is Angela and I have been on this site since June 2012. Congratulations on taking your first steps to a brand new you and a new weight loss experience where you are supported by en entire community of like-minded people. This website is dedicated to helping people who want a healthier lifestyle including issues with eating healthy and exercising, as well as support forums where we talk about specific issues.
I just lost 50 pounds in 8 months, so keep moving and working and WALKING WALKING WALKING and drinking that water. Congratulations on the weight loss yourself! It's hard to do on your own, but so worth it when you can! Makes you appreciate it a lot more!

I ran into an old friend in the grocery store last week. We had both lost a significant amount of weight since we last saw each other, and we complimented each other on our successes. She told me she was using SparkPeople, and I'm so glad I checked it out!
I have had family and friend support through my journey, but since none of them were going through a weight-loss process, I had no one to share my thoughts, feelings, frustrations, etc. with. I now feel that I have that kind of community behind me.
Although I had lost almost 60 pounds since October 2012, I still have a goal of losing about 45 more before the end of June 2013. This past week I lost 4.8 pounds (I had a small gain the week before), so I am very encouraged.
I am looking forward to meeting some new friends, sharing my experiences, and benefitting from all of the knowledge out there in SparkPeople!
