Hi, Teri! I am so sorry you are starting the year with the flu! Dang! Since the heart of Spark People is not dieting, getting started means focusing on your health and taking care of yourself. You can sure get acquainted with the trackers, read articles, look over the Challenges, read some of the strategies and stages material you get at the start, set up your Spark Page and maybe join a Team or two. I suggest you read The Spark, the book the founder wrote. He really captures what is different about this program from the "diet" programs. Start small, baby steps, very achievable goals with time frames and rewards for success before you move on to the next. It is so doable! Lifestyle change is the key, not dieting. Hi my name is Teri and this is my first time using this program, It seems to be good. I have not started yet- trying to get over the Flu. Wishme luck. I can't wait to get started.
