I hate it when they pop up in the middle of my typing a response or in the middle of a video that I'm listening to. that's just too much!

Yes, the ads here have gotten to be too much. They were basically hindering my use of the site and they were really invasive, so I installed an ad blocker--adblock plus from Firefox (you can just google firefox ad blocker to find it and it is free to download). I no longer see any of the advertisements. I know that the ads keep this website free and so I didn't mind them when they were "polite," meaning they stayed on the top and sides, didn't talk, didn't pop up and block text, and just overall didn't interfere with my using the site. But, they changed several months ago and became very invasive, so I installed the ad blocker.

I've had them too. Very irritating. I access the site at work to log my lunch, and it's a pain to suddenly have some stupid ad blaring. I need to have the sound up on my work computer for various alerts, so muting the computer isn't an option.

I don't have the sound on my computer, never noticed any talking ads on here, no ad that just stayed put until you could listen to it, I mean. Maybe there are only 2 or 3 of them, and you happened on this one.
Plan for tomorrow, but enjoy the heck out of today.
OK, I understand the need for ads, but these are too much. I did NOT scroll over anything except my friend feed and I get this talking ad. NO THANK YOU. It's bad enough when I accidentally hit one, but this was totally unwarranted. Ads are one thing. Ads that detract from use of SparkPeople are another. Please, no unsolicited talking ads.
